Introducing CFP’s 2020 Board Members

MARCH 2020 – The Canadian Foundation for Pharmacy is pleased to welcome six new board members for its monumental 75th year. Joining the board are Dr. Lori MacCallum and Dr. Kerry Mansell, Helen Marin and Kimberly Schroeder, Max Beairsto, and Al Moghaddam. This year’s Board consists of 16 representatives in total, from all sectors of the profession, to fulfill the Foundation’s commitment to fund research and suport leadership for the advancement of pharmacy practice.

Dr. Lori MacCallum is the Sun Life Financial Professor in Wellness and Diabetes Education, Program Director of Knowledge Translation & Optimizing Care Models at the Banting & Best Diabetes Centre, Faculty of Medicine, and Assistant Professor, Leslie Dan Faculty of Pharmacy, at the University of Toronto. She is a leading voice in the development and evaluation of educational programs aimed to empower and support people with diabetes.

Dr. Kerry Mansell is a Professor and Assistant Dean at the College of Pharmacy and Nutrition at the University of Saskatchewan and has worked for 20 years as a pharmacist in the community, as well as a clinical pharmacist focusing on diabetes.

Helen Marin works at the Princess Margaret Cancer Center, where she provides comprehensive pharmacy services to allogeneic bone marrow transplant patients. She is also working on her Pharm D at the University of Toronto.

Kimberly Schroeder is passionate about the business of pharmacy, with more than 25 years of experience working for several high-profile companies across many diverse product lines. She is currently working at Amgen Canada as the Value, Access and Policy Senior Manager for Pharmacy.

Max Beairsto is the managing principal at EVCOR (Enterprise Valuators Corporation), specializing in business valuation and transaction advisory and has a rich history in business consulting.

Al Moghaddam is an accomplished pharmaceutical executive with a science background and more than 20 years of experience in Canada and the U.S. He is currently Vice-President and General Manager of Pharmascience.

In the Executive Committee, last year’s Vice-President, Linda Prytula, has transitioned to the role of President, taking over from Bill Wilson, who is now serving as Past President. Prytula has more than 20 years of experience in the industry in a variety of roles, and previously served as CFP President of the Board in 2011.

“Being involved with the Foundation since 2008, I am extremely pleased to be part of this Foundation that supports pharmacy and is as passionate about the future of the profession as I am,” says Prytula. “Our 75th anniversary is a special one with opportunities to get great exposure for the Foundation. I am looking forward to working with Dayle and the Board to ensure that this year with be a very successful one.”
